![]() ![]() ![]() Should their mental firmness be tenuous, the Leper may isolate himself to spare their peace of mind a mercy, paid for with his own well-being. Huddled by a campfire, its ruinous toll becomes most evident, to himself and those lit by the same flames. His dread sickness has given the Leper his name surely as it has taken his body. However, such force falls not nimbly, and foes may lightly evade their execution. And when his massive blade falls, death's call rings loud to all caught in its thunderous arc. His power can neither serve nor comfort others but, drawing on it, he can gain strength others can but dream of, or the endurance to bear what no other could. He has learned to channel his energy inward, a kingdom within one man. ![]() Tortured existence has taught him to count not on the care of others. The Leper not only knows but embraces such solemnity. So I guess b.astered sword is pretty much just slang for longsword and not a different class of weapon.Struggle, and futility - all one's days are a constant toil to shelter life's ember through one more night. The word name b.astered sword showed up in the late medieval times and pretty much implies its a longsword. In Dark Souls the longsword is a 1 handed sword much to short to be a longsword. It can be compared to the Zweihänder or Claymore. If wikipedia is anything to go on a longsword is always a 2 handed sword with a double-edged blade. Actually in relation to dark souls the longsword is just wrong. A basty sword is technically a sort of longsword, yes, but this does not mean all longswords are that type of swords, it's like saying that because a stiletto dagger is a dagger that means all daggers are stiletto daggers. Its something that really bugs me in games like Dark Souls 2 where there is 1 long sword and 1 b.astered sword and they are different in design and length.
